LEX Academy · Focused Programs
When a specific challenge is getting in the way, begin there, and see the whole learner while you do.
Focused Programs bring targeted academic instruction and coaching to a defined goal. We look at the learner’s strengths, exceptionalities, learning patterns, current demands, and the structures around them, then build an approach they can use in real work and daily life.

A student may need to organize a long assignment, understand what they read, turn ideas into writing, close a math gap, or learn why starting work feels so difficult. Sometimes several barriers interact. We begin by defining a useful goal, then choose instruction and coaching that fit the learner rather than assuming one method works for everyone.
Current assignments and everyday demands can become opportunities to practice a new strategy. The aim is progress on the goal and a clearer understanding of what support works, so the student and family can use it again.
Areas of focus
These are starting points, not rigid tracks. A learner’s plan may connect more than one area.
Task initiation, planning, organization, time awareness, working memory, follow-through, and self-monitoring, practiced in meaningful tasks.
Reading comprehension, language patterns, vocabulary, inference, and using evidence to explain what a text means.
Idea generation, structure, paragraph and essay development, academic output, revision, and a repeatable process for finishing.
Identify a relevant skill gap, strengthen conceptual understanding, and make problem-solving steps visible and usable.
Questioning, comparing, evaluating evidence, making connections, solving unfamiliar problems, and explaining a conclusion.
ADHD, executive-function differences, and layered exceptionalities inform practical strategies for learning, self-advocacy, and support.
Additional focused work, including creative problem-solving and team preparation, can be discussed when aligned with the learner’s goal and program availability.
The exceptionalities framework
Ability, learning differences, attention, executive function, interests, environment, and lived experience interact. A gifted learner may need explicit support in one area while needing greater challenge in another. We ask what the full pattern tells us before choosing the next step.
At LEX, 2E+ is inclusive educational language for layered exceptionalities. It is not a diagnosis. Coaching and instruction are informed by the learner’s profile and available information; a Focused Program does not itself include a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation unless separately agreed.
Listen to the learner and family. Review the goal, relevant work, strengths, barriers, and current supports.
Choose a focused instructional and coaching approach, with a clear starting point and ways to notice progress.
Teach and apply skills in real tasks. Model useful structures and invite the learner to use them.
Review what transfers, change what does not, and identify sensible next steps.
Find the right level of support
Focused Programs begin with a defined area of focus and a goal shaped around it. The scope and schedule are agreed after consultation.
IGNITE Collaborative is a four-month Parent + Student + Coach partnership built around a present goal and real schoolwork.
IGNITE Private is an individualized, longer mastery pathway with a comprehensive initial-year academic diagnostic evaluation.
The consultation helps determine which approach fits the learner and family.
Meet the founder
Violetta Vrettos, known to learners as Ms. V, is an educator, certified neuroscience coach, certified ADHD coach, and founder of LEX Academy. Her approach connects instruction with the executive-function skills and supports students need to use what they know.
Focused Programs provide education and coaching. They do not diagnose or treat medical or psychological conditions.
Begin with clarity
We’ll discuss the goal, the learner’s profile, the appropriate scope of support, availability, schedule, and pricing before any commitment.
